About Joyce Gee
Joyce Gee is an Australian author based in Mandurah, Western Australia. Growing up among the rainforests of Far North Queensland, she loved to vanish into the other worlds hidden within the trees. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys drinking tea, pottering around the garden with husband and their two children, or escaping with her camera to capture the beautiful landscape of Western Australia.
What makes your book different?
"My target audience is primarily lovers of high and epic fantasy. But I've aimed to make it an easier read, hoping to appeal to people who want to read the genre but find themselves intimidated by the bigger reads. Fantasy romance readers may also enjoy it, as there's a bit of that going on. There's plenty of swearing, discussions about sex, fighting, torture, war, and more than a few deaths. A lot of my characters are bisexual at a minimum."

How Joyce is changing the world
Joyce Gee believes in the adage that change is achieved by a million people doing a million small things. She's a keen gardener and is working on a native garden to help feed native fauna as well as growing as much fruit and vegetables at home as she can. Joyce also refuses to use pesticides to promote a healthy natural ecosystem in her gardens and uses it to educate her two small children.
"Educating them on better practices is my current main focus, because in teaching them, I’m not only doing better myself but ensuring they will do better in the future," Joyce says. "This is my approach to everything—when we know better, we do better."
