About Eric Demarest

Eric spent most of his childhood living in his imagination. His adult life isn't much different, except now he writes his imaginings down and makes other people read them. Demarest loves how stories can make us understand ourselves and others more fully. His work has been featured in SPIDER Magazine. When Eric is not writing or reading, he spends his time watching science fiction movies and imagining what life is like in the parallel universe where he became a film score composer instead of a fiction writer. Eric Demarest lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with his wife and their cat.

Eric Demarest's impact

By focusing on themes such as self-awareness, self-esteem, and diversity, Eric Demarest is providing readers with narratives that allow them to see themselves in the characters and stories. His work is not only entertaining but also educational, providing opportunities to learn and grow through the experiences of his characters. Demarest's approach to storytelling is unique and fresh, making him a valuable voice in the world of young adult fiction. His inclusion of a non-speaking autistic as a main character and other secondary characters with disabilities in his book has been praised and is particularly significant because it provides a positive representation of an often-misunderstood group. Eric's contribution to literature has not only expanded the literary landscape but has also enriched the lives of young readers.

The Impact of Eric Demarest's Books on Self-Awareness and Inclusion

Eric Demarest is contributing to the literary landscape by creating stories that empower and inspire young readers. By exploring themes such as self-awareness, self-esteem, friendship, diversity, and inclusion, his books encourage readers to see beyond differences and embrace the strengths within themselves and others.

In particular, the portrayal of Tess, a non-speaking autistic character, is being commended for its respectful and accurate representation of capable autistic individuals in his upcoming novel, But I'm Not a Hero.

The book's message that heroes can come from regular walks of life and that doing the right thing isn't always easy but worth it, can inspire readers to become everyday heroes in their own lives, making a positive impact on young readers by providing stories that encourage them to be confident, courageous, and compassionate.

What's next for Eric?

Eric Demarest is currently working on a sequel to his book called "But I'm Not a Villain". The sequel will follow the same themes of empowerment and inclusion, and will continue the story of Matt Pine and his friends as they navigate new challenges and adventures. While there is no specific release date available yet, fans of Eric Demarest can look forward to more inspiring and imaginative stories from the author in the future.
