Celebrating Kindness: Stories from Our Community + Giveaway Winners Announcement

We recently celebrated generosity and compassion through a special giveaway. Our community shared touching stories of kindness, from selfless acts of support to heartfelt gestures of love.

We held a special giveaway for our young adult fantasy book, Touch of Kindness, where we asked our readers to share acts of kindness they experienced or performed. The response was heartwarming, and we were touched by the many stories of generosity and compassion.

Bornana27: “While my mom was in the hospital, one of my parents coworker brought me supper everyday. Probably one of the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me during the hardest part of my life.”

Jacqalin Mills: “This is an act of kindness that I did for someone else. As I scrolled through Facebook recently, I came across a post made in one of the groups I follow, it was a request for food from the mom of a small family who were really in a tough spot. She did not live close enough to me for a drop off, so I sent her a message and told her I would Walmart deliver her some groceries if she didn’t mind sending me her address. She sent it to me along with some of their favorite foods and drinks. I did not have a lot of money, but I was able to send a small amount of food to help them get through the week. It felt extremely good to be able to do that for them. I thank God for bringing me to Facebook at the right time to see her post and help. God is good!”

Buckybarneswife106: “My mom, my sisters, and I have been working on opening a homeless shelter for our local veterans that don’t have any homes. It’s a major work in progress, but we’ve had people who want to help invest.”

kaitlynnbelmont5127: “My best friend knows that I’ve never been to a drive-in movie before. She not only bought my ticket, but she, along with a few other good friends, pulled out the seats of the car and filled it with an air mattress and tons of blankets, pillows and lots of snacks. She also bought all our other friends tickets as well which was so kind and generous of her to do. We all had a blast.”

[...] I picked it up and drove slowly around the parking lot until I saw the car again and went up to it. I told the older man who got out that I had found this off the road from his car and he got teary eyed. Come to find out, not only was it his phone, but he was coming down to our state for a business trip and he had everything on it: money, information, and everything he needed for his trip and work. He thanked me multiple times for what I did. If the situation came up again, I’d do it all the same.”

Kerri Wright Graham: “Last week I gave bags of my grandson's gently used clothes & tennis shoes to someone who could use them. Each season he grows out of them, I find someone to give them to. I also love to surprise co-workers with typed up scriptures or a word of encouragement left on their desk. I love spreading kindness wherever God needs me. I feel blessed beyond my deserving.”

She had gone out of her way, paid who knows how much to have this little plushie made in the likeness of my little kitty. It brought me to tears when I first saw it, and I still sometimes bring it out and pet it just to remember her.”
